A pipe dream for small-tool storage

After installing a shelf over my workbench, I quickly realized there was additional storage potential on the underside of the shelf. I cut several pieces of 11⁄2 "- and 1"-diameter PVC pipe to lengths equal to the depth of the shelf and fastened them in place with screws. To do this, I drilled oversized holes on one side of the pipe so that the screwhead could pass through. Then I drilled a smaller shank hole on the opposite side. As I drove the screw, the head passed through the pipe to secure it to the shelf. I use this "pipe organ" storage for small bar clamps, dividers, squares, and other hand tools.
