Routing the edge of a laminate flooring.

After installing laminate flooring in my house, I discovered that the leftover scraps make great blanks for router templates. They're flat, stable, and the perfect thickness to use with bearing bits. And for wider templates, I simply click together two pieces side-by-side with glue in the joint.

When my leftover supply ran dry, I started buying affordable sample laminate boards at the home center for the same purpose. I've found the inexpensive stuff with no back and little or no surface texture works great.
