Filling the need for a tiny bit
Every once in a while, you find yourself lacking the precise size of drill bit to do a particular job. This happens especially often with small-diameter bits.

Use a small finishing nail or brad in place of a standard bit. Snip or hacksaw off the head before putting it into the drill chuck. With the nail held securely in the chuck, grind the nail down by rotating it as you hold the side of the nail against a grinding stone or sanding disc.
