I use a lighted magnifying glass to get a clear view of detailed work. But finding a way to clamp the magnifier to the bench was a real challenge. So I drilled two holes in a hardwood block—one to fit the magnifying glass' base pin and one to fit a bench-dog hole—and glued a dowel into the latter that extends about 2" below the block. After fitting the base pin in the other hole, I can now secure the light in any doghole.
