I'd like to slice some dowels in half lengthwise to make half-round molding. But when I tried a test cut at the bandsaw, the stock wanted to twist.
Is there a standard rail and stile width for kitchen cabinet doors? I was thinking of using 2" face frame material for the door frames to save milling time, but I think it might look a bit dainty.
I’ve seen two router-bit options for making rail-and-stile joints: matching bit sets and a single combination bit. It seems to me that the matching sets are the better way to go. Any thoughts?
Please recommend a finish to use on maple kitchen cabinet doors. I don’t know the existing finish, but it didn’t hold up to being splashed with water from the sink.
