How to clean the "hairs" off a rabbeted veneer

Rabbeting bits lift veneer when cutting rather than shear it cleanly ( top photo), so we rely on a sanding block to remove the stringy fibers (bottom photo). If any fibers bend into the rabbet, simply use your sanding block to sand the vertical face of the cut. Take care to not round the edge.
