Designed and built by Swedish craftsmen of European beech, the top is over 3.25" thick in the center with a skirt of 4.25". All surfaces are treated with a premium quality enriching oil. The specially developed vises provide enormous clamping power across their full 23.5" width. You'll be amazed by their clamping speed, accuracy and smoothness. Suitable for right or left handed persons – in less than two minutes, the vise can be removed and fitted on either side of the bench. A double row of 1" round dogs work from both vises. Both benches are available with (as shown) or without a storage cabinet.

Review Summary

I purchased this bench about 10 months ago. This is my second woodworking bench the first was a smaller and much lighter bench. The Elite bench is very heavy, straight top and has great working vises with a very useful cabinet. It can withstand heavy pushing and I even use it when working on metal projects. It went together very easy and both the quality and finish are excellent.

I purchased the Sjoberg hold downs and highly recommend those for clamping down to the top and to hold projects on edge on the front of the bench. They are expensive but very stout and easy to use. I love this bench. I added retractable wheels which help because I have a small space. I highly recommend this bench and cabinet because it has totally exceeded my expectations. I think the only way to have a better bench is to build one and that, of course, would require knowing exactly what you want in a bench. This bench is versatile and strong enough to serve me many years.

Review Summary

I really love my workbench. I have a smaller garage shop and purchased the smaller size Sjobergs Elite about 18 mos ago. It has been perfect. Very sturdy, easy to use and set up. The only issue I have had is most hold fasts and aftermarket accessories are built for 3/4" holes. The Sjobergs holes are 1" making it harder to find accessories. I do love my bench, though and wouldn't trade it for anything.
