Description

Yost’s heavy-duty ductile iron woodworker’s vises are unequaled in quality and stood the test of time since Yost’s establishment in 1908. Solid steel dogs in the front jaws, when used in conjunction with a bench stop, allows oversize work to be held securely on the bench top. Machined, toed-in jaws provide a solid grip, while steel no-pinch handles provide adequate clamping pressure. The front and back jaws are drilled and tapped or countersunk holes to allow for optional wood facing. Vises easily fit any bench up to 3" thick.

• Heavy duty ductile iron castings with black baked-on enamel finish
• Conforms to Federal Specifications GGG-V445, Type I, Class II
• Machined, toed-in vise jaws
•Continuous rolled 1" Acme threaded main screw
• 1-1/16" steel tube main screw handle supplied with pinch-free rubber washers
• Main screw steel end caps pinned in place
• 7/8" diameter solid steel guide bars
• Maximum opening guide bar equipped with end stop prevents vise separation

• Replaceable cast bronze alloy nut construction
• Solid steel lift dog with knurled lift pin

Reader Reviews

A monster of a vise

Review Summary

This thing is STOUT! Very heavy (about 35 lbs), very well made (it operates so smoothly), great woodworkers vise. A little high priced but I think it was well worth the extra cash. The only thing I added was some maple jaw pads and the mounting bolts.
