Review

The granite top is this saw's shining star, using its heft to eliminate vibration and provide a slick surface that will never rust and allows boards to glide smoothly across.
It's got a good rip fence that locks solidly and doesn't deflect a meaningful amount, and its miter gauge is the run-of-the-mill three-stop variety. The trunnions mount to the cabinet rather than the top, providing easy, long-lasting top-to-blade alignment without reaching inside the cabinet. Also good: blade changes, dust collection, and use of the blade guard assembly. But the motor is woefully underpowered for a saw of this size and price: it bogged down so easily ripping oak that we can't consider it a serious contender against other saws in its class.
