Description

Kreg's Precision Miter Gauge System requires no calibrating, and features positive stops at 0, 10, 22-1/2, 30 and 45 degrees to make it easy to cut perfect miters quickly. Of course, when you do want to cut a more complicated angle, the easy to- use Vernier scale allows for fast adjustments to 1/10th of a degree.

Precision is the name of the game for this CNC milled miter gauge, with accuracy in every feature from the rugged aluminum fence, to the solid, yet versatile Swing Stop™, to the easy-to-adjust Vernier scale.

Precision Lens Cursor: Similar to the type of lens found on a quality tablesaw rip fence, the clear lens features a high-visibililty red line that makes it easy to set the Swing Stop™ for precise cuts, time after time.

No Play in the Miter Slot: The 24” anodized aluminum bar is 3/8” tall by 3/4” wide and features five bar adjusters that eliminate “play” in the miter slot with the turn of a screwdriver.

The Swing Stop™ slides effortlessly along the fence of the Precision Miter Gauge and locks securely into place with the simple turn of a knob. It also features a patented curved foot that lifts out of the way when you slide a board into it, so squaring an end and cutting to length doesn’t require moving the stop.

The curved foot of the Swing Stop’s “breakaway” design allows you to add a sacrificial fence to your Miter Gauge.

Feature-loaded, value-priced gauge

Review Summary

High points: Made mostly of aluminum, this model’s light weight (under 5 lbs, including the fence) makes it easy to handle. Still, it proved robust. With nine miter detents, an easy-to-read miter scale, and a vernier scale for .1° accuracy, precise cuts are guaranteed. The fence has a registration stop that lets you slide the fence sideways for use in the right miter slot, then instantly return to its calibrated setting in the left one—the only tested model with this handy feature.
We like its fence flip-stop for its clear, precise cursor. Low points: Because the fence does not extend, the longest crosscut you can make with the stop is 22-1⁄4". If you make a cut without using one of the drop-in detents, there’s no place to store the brass registration pin on the tool. When fitting the bar to the miter slot, you must remove it from the slot to adjust the horizontal nylon screws, then return it to recheck the fit. More points: A breakaway tab on the flip-stop lets you use it with an auxiliary face attached to the fence. However, once removed, you’ll always need an auxiliary face to use the stop.

Well worth the upgrade

Review Summary

The people at Kreg just GET it! I've had great luck with all their tools that I've bought (router table, pocket jig, and this miter gauge). My saw came with a very basic miter gauge that wasn't much good, so I upgraded to the Kreg, and it's made my accuracy go through the roof! It's got so many precision angle settings, and the fence has a rule that's accurate and has a flip stop for making repeated cuts.
My only wish is that it extended beyond 24", but I'm hoping they're working on an upgrade.

Reall does improve your cuts

Review Summary

This miter gauge really does help you improve your cuts. Kreg only uses the best quality materials and it shows in the accuracy you get cut after cut. I was reluctant to shell out the money, but would do it again now that I see the differance it has made.
