40-695 scroll saw

Review Summary

The saw is really heavy when delivered. It all is in one box and weighs almost a hundred pounds. Thats ok for younger people but when you get up in age it becomes a problem. The delivery fellow was kind enough to put it In my shop so I could open it there. The saw went together easily enough. The table is heavy and flat, both good features. I set the saw on a work bench for now as I have no dedicated floor space to use for this yet.
I am going to get a set of locking rollers and then go from there. The good. the saw works extremely well , no vibration, has plenty of power, I would recommend this to anyone who asked. The lift arm is also a great benefit, especially when doing fret work. The blade clamps work so much better than my last saw. Having the controls on the top make this so much easier to turn on and off and adjust the speed and tension. The cons, the on off switch is defective, tried to e mail customer service and was directed to other sites to remedy my problem. Gave up with the e mail and found a number to call. Got a person and explained the situation to him. He wanted me to take the complete saw into a repair center and have them diagnose and repair the switch, they are also moving there warehouse and would be able to ship parts until later in December. The light is not adequate for me anyway. A led light would have been a nice touch instead of a low wattage incandescent.
