Review

In Bosch's jigsaw lineup (as of 2014), this saw is the second highest based on features and performance.
Compared to the lesser-priced Bosch JS365, this saw has a more powerful motor, self-ejecting blade chuck, larger shoe, and longer cord (almost 13'). It has a nice rubber-overmold grip and ergonomic trigger with soft start, immediate response, and its blower was strong enough to keep a cutline cleared of sawdust. Its blade deflected slightly when cutting, about 1/32" in 3/4" stock. The JS470E's foot tilts in both directions, but there are no markings other than the 0° detent, so it can be tricky to set an exact bevel angle. At just over 6 lbs, it’s a heavy saw (which helps to dampen vibration), but it’s not a problem unless you cut overhead.
