WOOD magazine review

Low vibration and blade deflection; large table

Review Summary

High Points: Demonstrated the least amount of blade deflection, about 1/32", in our test of 8 entry-level bandsaws. Showed the least amount of vibration. Its table is the largest in the test. Hex wrenches needed for adjustments store in a tool holder on the back of the saw. Reference chart inside lower door provides helpful tips without you having to open the owner’s manual. Low Points: Table tilts 45° right and 3° left, least in the test.
Single table trunnion makes adjustments more difficult than models with two trunnions. More Points: Its steel frame won’t accept a riser block. Its table has two miter slots, but no miter gauge is included. Bearing-style blade guides work well but take longer to adjust.

Very good but not perfect

Review Summary

The resaw capacity is the main reason I purchased this bandsaw. The rack & pinon on the blade guard and table tilt are very useful and make adjustments easy. Plenty of power for what I need. The fence is too difficult to adjust for the blade drift. The aluminum fence extrusion is not flat or square to the table. I was expecting a better fence. When the bandsaw arrived the box was torn up on the bottom but the packaging prevented any damage.
When I started to assemble the saw I discovered I was missing one of the side pieced for the base. It took a week to get the replacement part. This was very disappointing but the customer service folks were very good.
