Description

Norton 3X discs are manufactured with a blend of ceramic alumina and heat-treated aluminum oxide grain that cuts fast yet remains cool. They last longer due to the unique resin bonding system that secures the abrasive to the fiber reinforced backing and an anti-clog coating is applied. The 5" discs can be used on any random orbit sander due to the patented universal vacuum hole pattern. They are available in grits ranging from extra coarse to extra fine.

WOOD magazine review

Top performer across the board

Review Summary

In our head-to-head test of 15 sanding discs, the 3X discs proved among the most aggressive and durable while still delivering a near-flawless finish at both 180- and 220-grit. Our only beef: The dark-printing-on-blue-background on the discs' backs makes it difficult to read the grit number on the discs, especially after they've been used for awhile.

Don't waste money

Review Summary

Great preferred manufacturer, however, I feel that this 3X sandpaper is not worth the added cost. It performs well but it does not perform any better than the standard Norton sandpaper or sanding disc. The only thing additional is the cost so save money and purchase the standard Norton sandpaper or sanding disc.
