This is a good, functional trim router with few frills, but still an effective tool. Its single-speed motor lacks a soft-start feature, so it jerks a bit when powering up.…
It has a cast aluminum base with a clear D-shaped subbase with a stepped bit opening for standard two-piece guide bushings. The LED light around the spindle illuminates the work area around the bit nicely. And the router has a good combination of balance and control for one-handed routing. The collet travels 2-1/8", most among the trimmers we tested. But setting bit height can be pesky, as the adjuster has only fine threads for tedious movements. The depth scale is frustrating to use, so we just chose to ignore it. Finally, the split-cone collet sometimes made it hard to release bits, and the single-wrench-and-collet-lock bit changes is a personal preference issue.
