WOOD magazine review

Low amp draw, yet big on power

Review Summary

The Ridgid is a solid performer with by far the best electronic feedback for ultra-smooth routing. The motor ramped up and down smoothly through speed changes without delay and ran without vibration at all speeds. Still, the 11-amp motor ran hotter than others we tested. It has good dust collection, easy depth adjustment, and a nice price. The plunge-base depth rod locks solidly and never budged during repeated plunge bores.
Clear bases and two LED work lights around the spindle provide excellent visibility. A gap between the cursor and scale on the plunge-base stop rod make it hard to read accurately, and there's no microadjuster. The right-hand-side plunge lock lever is not spring-loaded. This kit comes in a canvas bag rather than a plastic case, offering less protection when stored there.

Ridgid 2 hp Multibase Router Kit

Review Summary

Very pleased with performance, however the wrench provided for above table adjustment is plastic and will not last long, the stud dictating the height adjustment keeps slipping out of the recess on the router, and the positive lock on the depth adjustment is on the opposite side of the router from the on/off switch making one or the other inaccessable from the front when installed in a router table. Easy to use and was a good value.
