Nice, Stable Router

Review Summary

This router works really well. I got it as part of the fixed base/plunge base kit. It has a motor that is lower profile than many others, making it a lot less "tippy" and a lot more stable. It has soft start and plenty of power. The motor easily detaches from the base by squeezing the two black tabs to swap bases. The motor adjusts easily and smoothly up and down by twisting it in the base, and micro adjustments are easy.
I also really like the power cord that detaches from the motor with a twist lock, similar to the Milwaukee or Festool Cords. It's a really nice touch and makes swapping it out a lot easier if it ever gets damaged. The only small quibbles I have are when swapping bits. It has a spindle lock, but the spindle lock gets damaged pretty easily. You can use two wrenches to change bits (as I do), but only one wrench is included in the kit and it is a cheap stamped steel type instead of the nice forged type that came with my DW621. The carrying case is also huge (way bigger than it needs to be). If they just included two forged wrenches (or even two stamped ones) and a smaller case, it would be five stars in my book.
