JessEM Mast-R-Lift Router Table Lift

Review Summary

High points: 16-tpi thread pitch on the lead screw provides a nice compromise between fine adjustments and speed of bit height changes. Well-marked scale is easy to read and intuitive. Low points: Only one 1-1/2" reducer ring comes with the lift, which leaves a serious gap around a 1/2" straight bit, yet was too small for our rail-and-stile bits. Scale cannot be zeroed, so figuring bit height changes requires some math. More points: Identical to Rockler 22788.
Incra version has nifty magnetic reducer rings.

Older Rockler version

Review Summary

I have one of the older Rockler versions of this lift. Jessem was making these for Rockler for a time, so it is essentially the same unit. It has worked very well since it's acquisition, but it did have a few minor flaws which I see they have corrected. The major one on this older version was placing the height adjust access hole right in front of the plate hole.
Often times you need to adjust the bit height with the work piece laying on the table for reference and the crank knob is in the way making it difficult to do. If I were buying another one today I would get a lift that has a height adjustment that is not located on the table top at all. otherwise this lift is well built and raises and lowers fairly smoothly. I did have to tighten the action a little as the mechanism was moving up with the vibration of the router motor. Once I tightened it, it hasn't been a problem since.
