Description

The Bosch GKF125CE Colt variable-speed palm-grip router with 1.25 horsepower (max) lets you feel the power in your hand. This Bosch Colt Palm Router has an ergonomic palm-grip design with soft-grip to make it very comfortable to hold, making it typically more convenient to use than larger routers. But it also has ample power, with a 1.25 HP (max) rating. Far more than a laminate trimmer, it’s the ideal tool for rounding-over deck planks and railings, hinge mortising, decorative edge forming, slot cutting, window cutouts, decorative inlays, laminate trimming and more. The motor features soft-start circuitry, a variable-speed dial and Constant Response circuitry to maintain speed under load. Its PR101 fixed base features macro- and micro-fine depth adjustment and a centerable round subbase for easy guidance. The GKF125CEN Colt Palm Router package includes the router, self-releasing collet chuck and a comfortable forged collet chuck wrench.

Bosch 1-1/4 hp Colt router

WOOD magazine review

When you add a quarter horse, you get a grown-up Colt

Review Summary

As a fan of Bosch’s 1-hp Colt trim router for more than a decade, we’ve been eager to get our hands on this amped-up model. The new 1-1/4-hp Colt has more muscle: We could not bog it down without making ridiculous cuts. With that power comes a larger body, but it’s still compact enough to operate one-handed, and it’s nimble despite the added size. We like the variable-speed, soft-start motor, and twin LEDs that illuminate around the bit nicely.
Our favorite feature, though, is the bit-depth adjuster: Three modes on the base lock (locked, unlocked, and microadjust) make it incredibly easy to fine-tune a bit’s cutting depth. This Colt comes with an adjustable edge guide—a nice touch. Bosch plans to launch a plunge base—a hotly anticipated accessory—in 2019.
