Description

Most scratch awls have a round handle, which makes it easy for them to roll off a bench. We designed this one with a 3" long rosewood handle with two flats to ensure it does not go anywhere when you lay it down.
The 5" long tapered blade is dressed to a fine point for precise marking and layout.

Hardened to Rc55, the high-carbon steel blade does not dull quickly.

WOOD magazine review

Nice point, but too long

Review Summary

This awl has a great rosewood handle with flats machined on two sides, so it won't roll off the workbench. That's nice! And the brass ferrule is another nice touch. The 5"-long rod has a very sharp tip that scribes and marks easily, but its length makes it awkward to use lots of times. It would be better if it were shortened an inch or two.
