12" electronic digital caliper with fractional display. Reads 3 ways: millimeters, thousandths of inch and fractions. Measures inside or outside diameters. Includes depth gauge. Resolution: .01mm, .0005", and 1/64" reduced to smallest denominator.

All the features of our 6" caliper except with larger beam and 2.5" rather than 1.5" jaw depth. Provides fast, reliable measurements of larger pieces. More versatile and easier to read than a ruler. Includes plastic storage case and extra battery.

Review Summary

For measurements such as workpiece thickness or dado depth or width, we formerly relied on a dial caliper. It was accurate to .001", but hard to read. Then came digital decimal calipers that were easier to read, but still unintuitive. (Quick! Is .630" more or less than 5/8"?) Now comes this digital caliper that reads in fractional inches, such 13/32" or 15/16", so we don’t have to get out a calculator.

Our fave feature: It shows dimensions to the nearest 1⁄64", but it also can convert to decimal inches or millimeters by simply switching display modes.
