Rockler Bench Cookies

They have already become my favorite for holding pieces while routing, sanding, finishing, and even drilling. They hold the workpiece firmly in place and can be stacked or used with the risers to leave quite a bit of space underneath. This makes it easy to get a clamp and a backing scrap piece under the project when drilling to reduce back-side tear-out, or to route an edge profile without accidentally putting gouges in my workbench top. I've also noticed that my random orbit sander works much better when the piece is on the cookies because they don't allow much sideways movement and that means the sander is actually dragging the sandpaper over more material on each orbit. This was another one of the many smart and simple Rockler innovations that actually work and have helped me to solve some annoying problems in routing and sanding. You could probably make your own out of available materials on the market, but for this price is it worth the effort? Probably not ! Highly recommended !
