Description

The VM100 T- Bar Allen Key operated chuck provides one-hand tightening along with tremendous gripping power provided by the 4.5 to 1 ratio of the scroll. Keyed chucks cannot be beaten when it comes to holding power. The totally enclosed back ensures consistent, smooth action by preventing dust and debris from getting into the scroll of the chuck. The backing lid is also indexed for those woodturners who do not have indexing facility on their lathes. The VM100's compact size makes it ideal for use on 12" capacity (300mm or smaller) lathes.

Basic chuck includes: 1 x Standard Jaws, 1 x 3mm T-Bar Allen Key, 1 x 8mm T-Bar Allen Key, 1 x Woodscrew.

WOOD magazine review

Lots of jaw options

Review Summary

We like the crisp jaw tips on the VM100 for gripping short tenons and shallow recesses. But its scroll mechanism operated stiffer than the others, and the screw center not only extends farther than we care for, but also worked loose in the chuck multiple times during testing. The VM100 has more than a dozen optional jaw sets.

vm100 chuck

Review Summary

Excellently made, had no problem with the screw as reported by editors. Cost a bit more than other chucks this size but comes with adapter, and you can trust it will hold what you put in it.
