Not what I wouild call accurate

Review Summary

There is too much play in the turret. This causes inaccurate placement of the holes. When you are drilling you can feel the wobble in the turret. After limited use, teh 3/8 hole started to show wear. You get what you pay for in this case.

Can be accurate with proper marking and lockdown.

Review Summary

There is some play on the turret unless you really crank down the set screw. Also, it's hard to get the actual positioning lined up exactly center (or even off center if that's what you want), as the lines and measurements are coarse and even when you think it should be where you want, you may find it isn't. The more perfect solution to positioning, is to use a solid pointed pin (like an awl) and align the turret to a specific mark you have made on the piece to be drilled.
You can get perfect alignment then. the thickness of the turret may present problems with the length of the drill bit for smaller sizes (start your hole, remove device and continue drilling hole, but shouldn't be a problem for larger holes). Of course, removing the turret just removed your theoretical vertical alignment tool and even if you are very careful it's easy to drift your drilled hole. Not the best tool, but one i purchased a long time ago and still turn to it at times.
