Description

The standard block plane is preferred for general-purpose work. The 20° bed angle plus the blade's 25° bevel angle results in an effective cutting angle of 45° (as found in most bench planes). The low-profile lever cap fits the hand well, at only 1/8" higher than its low-angle sibling. In all other respects, it is the same as the low-angle block plane. Available with a lapped blade, in either A2 or O1 tool steel, 1-5/8" wide. A toothed blade in A2 steel is available for working very difficult grains, such as knots.

Very good little plane

Review Summary

This plane is very well machined. Everything is true and no work is necessary to get it ready for use other than touching up the blade. It came with the back of the blade flat, so all you need to do is touch up the bevel and you are ready to go. The screws on the side line up the blade and hold it firmly in place. The adjuster works well with no play. The plane fits the hand well.
The only complaint I might have is that it is a bit heavy, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on what you are doing.
