My favorite bench plane

Review Summary

I had been wanting to get a No. 4, but couldn't decide between the Lie-Nielsen and Veritas. I didn't want to restore an old Stanley. In the end I bought the Lie-Nielse based on user reviews from other websites and magazines. It was a great investment! I love this plane and now I use it on almost every project I build in my shop. I went with the iron over the bronze body just to save money, but I've not seen any downside to doing that.
Keep the iron sharp and this will serve you well. It's a lot of money to spend, but high-quality tools always cost more.
