Description

Features:

• Starts with an extra-coarse thread at a high angle to pull the screw in fast.
• T17 point collects wood dust reducing outward pressure as the screw in installed. This feature drastically reduces splits and bulges.
• Deep coarse thread offers substantial holding power.
• Reverse spiral clears a hole so the first step of the head can sink into the wood and also collect wood dust while locking the screw in place.
• Funnel head with serrations allows the head to sink flush and stop just below the surface of the wood.

WOOD magazine review

Self-tapping, self-setting, no-splitting screws

Review Summary

Few screws bore their own pilot holes, and those that do usually have a pan or hex head that stands proud of the wood surface. Quickscrews’ Spiral-Point Funnel-Head screws not only bore a slim pilot hole with a self-tapping point, but they also have flat heads (with square-drive sockets) that make their own counterbores. And they do this without splitting the wood! We tested the screws in solid pine, oak, maple, and cherry, and they never split the wood.
(They will split out MDF, though.) Available in #8 (1–3" lengths) and #10 (31⁄2–4") sizes, these screws sell in packs ranging from 25 to 10,000 screws.
