plastic blast gates

Review Summary

When I first started getting my dust collection system together I used a few of these plastic blast gates. They work Ok, nothing to brag about. They do have a tendency to stick open or shut from dust lodging in the track, as do the metal ones that have this same design. The ones I use exclusively now are the metal self cleaning gates.
The panel slides all the way through each side, thus cleaning out the track each time you open or close, which keeps them from sticking as mentioned by another viewer. I get the good ones from the Blastgate Co(.www. blastgateco.com)

Good value blast gate

Review Summary

I completely disagree with the previous review. I have these blast gate and still use them throughout my dust collection system. They are inexpensive, duarable and effective in shutting off the air flow to other equipment. They have never clogged on me, although occasionally the blast gate sticks, but I think it is mostly operator error. I only wish it included awall mounting bracket so I didnt have to fabricate them.
