Description

Your shop may look clean, but how clean is the air?

The PM1200 Air Filtration System is rated to trap up to 99% of all 5-micron particles and 85% of all 1-micron particles. Three blower speeds modify air flow. The unit can be operated either at the cabinet or with the remote transmitter which uses radio-frequency, eliminating the need for line-of-sight operation. The timer has nine settings, allowing continuous operation for up to 9 hours while you’re away, and will shut off at the end of that period. The filter guards can be removed and installed without tools, for instant filter access.

WOOD magazine review

Clean dusty air rather than breathing it

Review Summary

Not having used an air-filtration system in my basement shop before, I was amazed at how much dust Powermatic’s PM1200 collected on its outer filter after only 10 hours of normal shop use. That jolted me to be more conscious of the air I was breathing. To challenge the PM1200, I wore a respirator and blasted everything in my shop with jets of compressed-air, stirring up a smog-quality haze. I set the cleaner on its highest of three speeds (nearly 1,200 cfm) and left for an hour.
When I returned the air looked crystal clear again, and very little dust had settled onto my tools. Rated to trap as much as 85 percent of 1-micron-sized dust particles, this air cleaner makes me confident I can breathe easier in my shop. The remote-controlled PM1200 has a built-in timer that you set for up to nine hours. —Tested by Bob Wilson

Review Summary

I'd suggest one should compare the various clones of this unit currently available. Delta and Jet sell quite similar units at a similar or less price. My Delta has been in use for several months suspended 7'off of the floor and give similar results.Same bells and whistles that really work and most likely all are made in the same factory in Taiwan (sad not the USA).
