Description

If you’re adding shelf pin holes to an existing piece of furniture or building shelves from scratch, the Kreg Shelf Pin Jig is the perfect tool for the job. Unlike other shelf pin guides, the Kreg Shelf Pin Jig features hardened steel drill guides which ensure precise and straight drilling, so you get solid 4-corner secure shelving. The Shelf Pin Jig also includes a dual position adjustable fence for custom hole placement, a locating pin for quick and accurate spacing reference, a handy jig extender which lets you connect multiple Shelf Pin Jigs together for high-speed production work, and an ultra sharp 1/4” brad-point bit with depth collar which can be stored on the bottom side of the Shelf Pin Jig when not in use.

Unlike thin and flexible guides, the hardened steel drill guides of the Kreg Shelf-Pin Jig ensure each and every hole you drill is perfectly straight and true.

Compact size is perfect for adding additional shelf pin holes in existing furniture. Need more length for additional speed? Connect multiple Shelf Pin Jigs together with the included Jig Extender.

The built-in Quick Switch Fence can be easily removed and switched to the other side of the jig. Dual fence spacings let you adjust for your unique project.

Hardened Steel Drill Guides are placed a standard 32mm apart. The jig comes complete with a standard sized 1/4” drill bit for the most common shelf-pins. 5mm drill bit also available.

WOOD magazine review

Quick, easy, affordable shelf pin holes

Review Summary

Kreg Tool’s new shelf-pin drilling jig has six steel drilling guides (on 1-1/4" centers), a fence, and 1/4" drill bit with stop collar. (An optional 5mm drill bit sells for $8.) And it’s just as accurate—and simpler to use—than jigs costing twice as much. To use it, you install the fence along one side of the jig body for a 1" inset from the workpiece edge, or along the other for a 21/8" inset. Then you just clamp it and drill.
For more holes in the same row, drop the included indexing pin through one of the guides and into the last hole you drilled. You’re ready to drill again—repeat for as many holes as you need.

great little jig

Review Summary

Kreg comes through again with a simple to use jig that gives you professional results. Every book case I've made has shelves sitting perfectly flat. What you can do to increase production is attach as many of these together as you wish. Each individual kit comes with a connector to link them together. Personally, I have just one because I found it works so fast by locking into the last hole you drilled. Simple, accurate, versatile and a real pleasure to use.
The bit leaves a very clean, exact hole. I use the 1/4" because of the wider variety of shelf pegs.
