Review Summary

Too often when a manufacturer creates a tool or machine that combines the functions of several others into one unit, that tool often does none of the functions exceptionally well. That's the case with this two-in-one impact tool. The Socket Ready Impacter has a drive shaft that accepts both 1/2"-drive sockets (the outer shape) and 1/4" hex-shank driver bits (inside the shaft). It's a clever idea.

Problem is, this tool lacks the practical torque of either a dedicated impact wrench or impact driver when used for their specific functions. It runs incredibly smoothly and quietly, and the runtime per battery charge is impressive. Add in the nice case and two battery packs and charger, and it's an acceptable tool kit, but it seems like it should be just a bit better.
