WOOD magazine review

Heavyweight drill—for a compact

Review Summary

While a solid performer, it had the shortest battery run time of the 8 compact drills we tested. The speed switch has a short throw distance and lacked a solid feel when changing from low speed to high speed. Widely spaced clutch settings click positively into place. But at one ounce short of 4 lbs, the weight can get tiresome. The charger handles Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, and Li-ion batteries.

Dewalt DCD760B 18v medium duty 'Compact' Cordless Drill

Review Summary

PERFORMANCE I bought 4 of these, 3 years ago, no issues yet. The DCD760B is the bare tool (not the kit; no case, charger or battery). The DCD760KL is the entire kit. I already have tons of chargers & batteries. It has plenty of torque. I have used it to drill in 3.5" DeckMate screws without pre-drilling a hole. Screws in 3"x1/4" Tap-Con (concrete anchors) easily, but as with all concrete anchors you must pre-drill.
If you are looking for something better, get the DCD970. FEATURES Average features for the modern cordless drill. A 2 speed, variable speed reversible. Has LED light that is somewhat aimed on the area to drill. Comes with a ratcheting keyless chuck & 17 position clutch. EASE OF USE Since its average on modern cordless drill features, it is easy to understand & operate. VALUE Top quality, but for a top price. If you want a low cost compact cordless drill, this is not the one. If money is not much of an object and you want a medium duty compact cordless drill, get this one.

Great Drill

Review Summary

One tough drill. Nice balance. Battery life could be longer but the recharge time is pretty quick so with 2 batteries I never have any issues waiting for a battery to recharge.

Dewalt cordless drill. Exeptional

Review Summary

I have this DeWalt drill. It has lots of power compared to cheaper drills. It has the nickel cad batteries which seem to hold their charge very good.
