Not recommended for Hi Torque

Review Summary

I had a couple of these clamps and they worked good until I cranked them down real hard. As a result the bar located between the handles bent, rendering them useless. Apparently that part of the wrench isn't hardened. Out of the 5 people who rated them on the Harbor Freight site they did pretty well. So I'm going to be fair here and say that these would be a good value if your not planning on torquing them down real hard as I did.
I was using them to clamp adjoining face frame pieces down to my workbench for pocket whole screw installation.

Cheap alternative for Kreg pliers.

Review Summary

I don't know how much torque is "high torque" but I've been using these pliers for some time now (2 years) and I have had no problems with them. I've put on some pretty good clamping pressure, in my opinion, without failure. Could be I haven't been agressive enough. If there is a complaint it is that the screw travel isn't real smooth but that's so minor that it's not a problem.
