WOOD magazine review

Awkward-feeling handle

Review Summary

Craftsman's version of the German-made Wolfcraft clamp. It works well enough, with clamping force about mid-pack in our test of 11 one-hand bar clamps. But its pistol-grip handle and trigger release feel awkward, because the release is behind the handle rather than between it and the fixed jaw as with all other pistol-grip clamps. It's actually easier to use when you turn it around and have the fixed jaw near you, but that's not always an easy thing to do.
The jaw pads extend all the way to the bar, which gives you more contact surface during glue-ups, a nice touch.
