WOOD magazine review

Frustrating and awkward to use

Review Summary

One of the heaviest clamps in this category, the Bora would benefit greatly from a redesign. The rubber-overmold grip is easy to grip, but it topped out at just 96 lbs of clamping force in our testing, putting it more in the realm of the light-duty clamps despite its large size. When we clamped the jaws tightly we routinely had to use a mallet to free the release mechanism.
The jaw pads slid off the jaws frequently, but since their diamond-grid pattern left indentations on soft woods, we sometimes preferred using them without pads. And finally, to convert to spreader mode, you have to use a screwdriver (and often a mallet) to remove the fixed jaw and then reposition it backwards.
