Bessey H Series Pipe Clamp BPC-34 3/4"

Review Summary

A few attributes of these clamps quickly separate them from other top-notch pipe clamps. Both jaws elevate above the worksurface, making it easy to turn the crank without having to hang it over the edge of the work surface. The Besseys also proved stable: Their wide two-point stance means you have to give them a serious sideways jolt to topple them as you’re positioning boards. In our tests they never fell over. The Besseys have excellent fit and finish.
The well-machined threads on the head-jaw screw make turning the crank noticeably smoother than on other clamps. The jaws come with plastic pads—an added expense for other pipe clamps whose manufacturers offer them.

1/2" model of same clamp

Review Summary

I have the 1/2" model of these clamps and I really like them. I had to break in one of the screws, but that was just a matter of a little oil and running it in and out a few times. I will warn you that you have to watch how much pressure you are putting on the work piece. You can easily over tighten them and damage the edge of your work.

Best clamps in the shop?

Review Summary

With a collection of various clamps in my shop, I sometimes tend to overlook the lowly pipe clamps, but they are the best, most reliable clamp out there. They are definitely my "go to" for panels. The short face minimizes uneven loading, and the clamps can be any length you want by varying pipe length, using pipe couplings, or just hooking them together. Due to teir simple design, you always know where the center of loading is.
And you can't beat the price, especially when you need a 48" or more length. Most of mine are 1/2".

Unstable pipe clamp footing

Review Summary

I am not as impressed as the previous reviewers. I feel that the footing is unstable and has a tendendency to want to tip over. The clamping pressure is not firm as my other brand of pipe clamps. I own two 3/4" set and I purchase these on sale, not a bad sale price, but i would have preferred the my other brand.
Although durable and I know they will last for many years to come, it is not my preferred brand of choice, due to the comfort factor and set-up factor becuase they always seems to want to tip over.
