Description

This Porter-Cable 18-gauge, 2" brad nailer is a compact, comfortable-to-carry unit that might not offer quite as many extras as other (more expensive) units, but it's very reliable and does its job well. This nailer shoots standard brads from 3/4" to 2" and has an anodized magazine with a reload indicator. The die-cast aluminum body is lightweight but still very strong, and the handle is comfortable to hold, even over long periods of time. The quick-release nosepiece lets you clear jams quickly and easily. Other features include a sequential fire trigger, a safety that's located behind the driver guide for driving brads in tight spaces, an easy-to-adjust depth guide, a directional exhaust port, and a removable rubber nose. The kit comes with a 1/4" male coupler with dust cover, a rugged plastic carrying case, oil, and 1,000 brads.

WOOD magazine review

Porter-Cable BN200A Brad Nailer

Review Summary

This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer; Porter-Cable's newer version, BN200B, is a close match to this model. High points: The BN200A has both performance and price going for it, so we named it the Top Tool. Can drive 2" brads into hardwood at 30 psi less than its maximum recommended pressure, which should extend the life of the tool. Small rear-mounted contact safety trip makes it easy to see the nail path and accurately put brads close to obstructions.
Low points: The quick-release nose felt tight when clearing jams, but may loosen with time.

Too bad it is discontinued

Review Summary

I have had this gun for about 5 years. I have never had a jam. I have used Porter Cable and Bostitch nails through it. I have had a couple of jams withthe Bostitch nails but with the Porter Cable nails it has been flawless. If you find one in classified for sale, pick it up.
