WOOD magazine review

Quick, quiet refills with a heavy-duty pump

Review Summary

Among the quietest-running compressors (77 dB), this oil-lubricated unit features moderate tank capacity but low tank pressure. A fairly high-output continuous-duty compressor pump provides quick recycle time. A single output port is equipped with an automatic quick-connect coupler. The 1-3/4” diameter tank gauge and 1-3/8”-diameter hose gauge are well protected, mounted over/under between the motor unit and the tanks.
Unfortunately, the big tank gauge with good markings is at the bottom and the little line gauge with so-so markings is at the top and both are obscured by the handle. You really have to hunker down to read them. There is no convenient place to wrap the cord and no cord clip molded into the plug. The threaded-stem tank-drain valves are on the same side of the tanks so you can tip the unit to one side to drain both. The handle placement provides a decently balanced carry, but as with all heavy oil-lubricated models, it needs two handles for front-of-body carrying. •High Points: Continuous-duty rated pump with quick recycle time. •Low Points: Really bad gauge placement. •More Points: Shipped with oil in the crank case. Washable air-intake filter. On/off lever on pressure switch
