WOOD magazine review

Portable, low-maintenance, good performance

Review Summary

This model's housing features a top-mounted rocker-style power switch and a cord cleat. The cord features a cord clip on the plug. The 1-3/8”-diameter gauges have good markings and the tank and hose gauges have different calibrations and face upward. However, the housing around the gauges interferes with the two manual quick-connect ports. •High Points: Good performance, very portable, attractive price. •Low Points: Drain is not at bottom of the tank.
When tipping the tank to drain it, the valve hits the floor. The knurled-knob drain stem-type valve is not as convenient as a ¼-turn ball valve. Scoots when refilling. •More Points: ¼”x25’ hose with quick-connect fittings included. Accessory pack features a blow gun with three interchangeable tips, two ¼” NPT male quick-connect plugs, tire inflation chuck, tire gauge, and inflation needle with a blow gun adaptor.

Still Going Strong Years Later

Review Summary

The compressor has been great for eight years now (and counting)..... It is just right for running a couple of small nailers and filling tires. It has worked flawlessly. The only tough part about it is accessing the water drain valve. It is small and in a place where you have to tilt the compressor up to reach it. It is tough to turn, being a small knurled knob (maybe a stopcock attached to a drain tube out to the edge would work better).

Good - but now leaking

Review Summary

Have owned for about 2 years and always worked great, but had just developed an air leak that appears to motor related and not easy to repair.

Great compressor, that could be more user friendly

Review Summary

Have used this one for years, with any of my 4 PorterCable nail guns, and it works great. Easy to adjust the output pressure for the gun being used and the depth of setting the nail, with easy to read gauges. It could use a carry handle to make it easy to move, as they tell you not to lift it by the compressor head mounted on the tank, but that leaves you with trying to hold onto a smooth round tank while traveling up and down stairs, etc.
Could also use a place to wrap the cord when not in use. Make it more convenient to use and would be 5 stars!
