WOOD magazine review

Fast tank refills and quiet running pump

Review Summary

The small tank capacity mated with low-pressure turned in middling overall performance in our test of 10 comparable compressors. Fast recycle time and continuous-duty rating makes up some ground, but you’ll have to listen to the motor run. Thankfully, it’s one of the quieter units in the high 70s to low 80s decibel range. The compressor has one outlet port, but you’ll have to supply your own quick-connector.
The identical 1-3/8”-diameter gauges are easily differentiated by location: you can see that the tank gauge is mounted on the tank and the hose gauge on the regulator. Unfortunately, the hose gauge is obscured by the handle. There is no convenient place to wrap the cord and no cord clip molded into the plug. The compressor scooted during cold-running tests. •High Points: Among the quietest running. Continuous-duty rated with fast recycle time. •Low Points: Heavy. Small tank capacity with low tank pressure. Poor line-gauge location. •More Points: On/off lever located on pressure switch. Lower tank drain is on the bottom of the tank, but the unit must be tipped to drain the upper tank. Requires a 20-amp 120-volt circuit.
