Bistro Table Construction
Cut the legs (A) to size, dado and rabbet them, form the decorative V-grooves, and chamfer the bottom ends. Then cut the end rails (B) and side rails (C) to size, dado the end rails, and form an arch in each rail. Screw and glue the end and side rails together to form two frames.

Glue and screw the frames (B/C) into the rabbets and dadoes of the first two legs (A).

Glue and screw the second pair of legs (A) onto the frames (B/C).

Glue and clamp the rail caps (D) to the end rails (B) and side rails (C).

Cut the top side rails (F), center rail (G), top end rails (H), wide slats (I), narrow slats (J), short fillers (K), and long fillers (L) to size. Cut grooves in the top, center, and end rails. Drill an umbrella pole hole in the center rail. Form tenons on the ends of the side and center rails, and wide and narrow slats. Glue the short fillers into the side and center rail grooves and the long fillers into the end rail grooves.

Glue and clamp one wide slat (I) and 14 narrow slats (J) between one top side rail (F) and the center rail (G).

Add the second wide slat (I), remaining 14 narrow slats (J), and second top side rail (F) to the previous assembly.

Complete the top by gluing and clamping the top end rails (H) onto the top side rail (F) and center rail (G) tenons.

After applying the finish, screw 1/8 x 1 x 16" aluminun bars to the rail caps (D).

Screw the top to the base.

Then glue the fillers (H) into the seat end rail grooves to form mortises for the seat side rail and slat tenons. Now, capturing seat side rail and slat tenons in the seat end rail mortises, glue and clamp the seat.

Glue and clamp the seat to the base.

Glue and clamp the rail caps (D) to the end rails (B) and side rails (C).

After applying the finish, screw 1/8 x 1 x 10-1/2" aluminum bars to the rail caps (D).
