When mounting hardware, such as hinges and drawer slides, there's more than one way to ensure accuracy. To mount upper and lower hinges consistently on several doors, use a gauge block, as shown left. You'll need one for the door frame and another that's 1⁄16 " longer (to allow for the reveal) for the case frame, as shown below. Cut the blocks from scrapwood.
