To keep drawers from pulling completely out and dropping on the floor, use a common padlock hasp. Just cut off the slotted portion of the hasp and mount it against the back of the cabinet face frame, as shown. The shortened end hangs down and prevents the drawer from being pulled out. Should you need to remove the drawer, just reach in and push the hasp up as you pull the drawer out.
