glue box

Gluing and clamping small boxes with tight mitered corners can be tricky. Here's a simple, fast, and clamp-free way to get it done. Using the 5" musical block, for example, lay end to end an end (D), 5" side (E), another end (D), and the remaining 5" side (E) with their inside faces down. Apply masking tape across the snug joints. Flip the parts over, then apply glue to the mitered ends. Now close up the block and tape the remaining corner.
