Deep-hole drilling made easy

Drilling deep holes on the lathe can be a smoky, noisy job. To prevent this, apply a dry cutting-tool lubricant, such as Bostik DriCote, to your drill bit before each use, as shown. Then while drilling, frequently back the drill bit out of the hole to clear chips from the flutes. —from the WOOD shop
