Zero clearance with a magnetic personality
Those flexible refrigerator magnets that businesses constantly hand out used to annoy me because I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away. And then I found a use for them. Because they cut easily and stick beautifully to steel or cast-iron tables, they make great zero-clearance plates for the bandsaw. The magnets are thin enough that they don't cause a problem with most cutting tasks. Even better, if your plate wears out, someone will give you another one soon enough. —Carl Bloedel, Brooklyn Center, Minn.
