Incra 1000SE table saw miter gauge

Incra 1000SE miter gauge, $125

Factory-supplied tablesaw miter gauges have a reputation for being inadequate and inaccurate. That's why replacement miter gauges—some souped-up with length stops, adjustable-width miter bars, and positive stops every degree (or even down to .1)—are all the rage among woodworkers. Incra's 1000SE proved superior to the others in a test of 14 models, and offers the best length stop on the market, with precise 1/32" repeatability and a microadjuster for length.

I have a 2000. It is great for miter cuts EXCEPT for moldings & anything that must be held flat against the gauge arm. The face of the arm is several degrees from perpendicular to the table due to what I consider to be a defect & very poor QC, especially for something close to a precision instrument. After months of effort, including the intervention of a vendor, trying get Incra talk to talk to me, I was told to shim the arm with pieces of paper! This was & remains far from a workable fix.

i have had one of these for years. accurate and easy to use. one problem is having to use the hex screwdriver to extend the fence or move the stop bracket. but, I got over it quickly. highly recommended.
