Editor test-drive:
For years I used a fixed-base router in my table, and every time I rotated it to adjust the bit height the power switch rotated to a new spot. I was always fumbling under the table trying to locate that switch. Then I tried this auxiliary power switch, and it was like when someone invented the automatic bread slicer: Hallelujah! Now I control the power without reaching below the table. I'll never own another router table without an auxiliary switch.

I prefer this power safety switch over any other I have seen. I have used it and it give the operator the ability to shut the power tool off safely without having to let go of the project. This helps prevent a possible an injury from kick-back or a damaged project piece. More control equals more safety.
4/4/2013 10:05:40 PM Report AbuseI mounted this switch on my table with a slight modification. The under side of my table is boxed for dust collection so I routed the output cord through a handi-box recep on the out side and then into the enclosure to accept the router cord. I can now turn my dust collector on/off along with my router.
