DeWalt launches 18-volt lithium-ion cordless tools
A new 1/2-inch hammer drill
In addition to using the new batteries in older tools, DeWalt is also launching two new tools in the 18-volt lineup. First is a 1/2-inch hammer drill (model DC927KL) with a self-tightening chuck for better bit grip. It also has a three-speed, all-metal transmission, a 22-position clutch, and a removable handle for better leverage. The DC927KL weighs 5.5 lbs. -- by comparison, the DC925KA hammerdrill with NiCd battery weighs 6.1 lbs. The new hammerdrill will sell with charger and battery for about $360.
