Door-making router bit

CMT, a global manufacturer of woodworking cutting tools, introduces a new router bit set designed specifically to build doors and cabinets. The Industrial Entry and Passage Door set (model #800.527.11) is now available through retailers who carry CMT products.

This set includes three router bits: one to cut the long grain profile, a second to cope the ends of the rails to match the long grain cut, and a third designed for cutting tenons. The set makes 1 3/8-inch and 1 3/4-inch thick doors, the two most common sizes for doors. For cabinetmaking and other woodworking projects, the tenon cutter produces tenons from 3/16 to 5/8 of an inch thick and up to 1 1/16 inches long. It also cuts the shoulders and cheeks of the tenon. When using spacers, the bits can be placed to produce tongue and groove cuts. The set sells for $300.
